Over February Break, a new banner was hung outside Millennium High School. Through a partnership with the non-profit organization Justice Murals, MHS went through a year-long iterative design process that involved incorporating student and staff designs, values and feedback. The resulting image incorporates messages about the school’s identity, history, and values. This design was shared with Justice Murals who worked with graphic artists to design and print an 80 x 80 inch banner with the design. The mural is hung on the side of Millennium High School facing east. This is one of the two entrances to MHS and is a popular spot for students to gather and eat lunch. The project will benefit anyone who will be attending school at Millennium as it will allow them to feel pride and a sense of identity in their school and claim their space. It will also help identify for the larger community that Piedmont has two distinct high schools, each with their own culture and values.
